For the fourth time, the German Environment Agency asked its employees about their commuting behavior as well as their business travel arrangements. 68 percent of employees come to work on foot, by bike or with public transport.
Biking accounts for 25 percent of all commuting trips. This is three times more than the national average. The share of public transport and the train increased slightly compared to the year 2013. This led to a 4.2 percent decrease of average CO2-emissions per working week and employee. For more than 12 years, we at the Germany Environment Agency support the use of environmentally friendly modes of transport with targeted measures. In our current survey, you can learn more about how this is done exactly.
