Technology transfer, particularly in developing nations, is an avowed goal of the administration, to which end we have set ourselves two waste technology objectives: (a) promoting sustainable waste management and harmonizing waste management practices with European environmental standards in the target countries; and (b) generating business for German waste management technology providers.

Environmental damage does not stop at borders. This is why the paths to greater environmental protection and sustainable development are increasingly being negotiated at international level - the shared responsibility of all states for a viable world is becoming more and more widely known.

To maintain their livelihood, many people in developing countries depend on access to natural resources such as soil, water or forests. If due to overuse, environmental degradation or climatic changes, access to essential resources is no longer ensured, violent clashes may erupt.
