The German Environment Agency (UBA) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) are jointly hosting this international workshop in Berlin. The workshop looks at sustainable urban mobility innovations in emerging and developing countries that might provide new ideas for the German context.

In the context of the European Mobility Week (16-22 September 2017) and in parallel to the Transport and Climate Change Week (by GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Environment Ministry (BMUB)) the German Environment Agency (UBA) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) are jointly hosting the event “Reverse Innovation  - Rethinking Urban Transport through Global Learning” focusing on urban mobility. The aim is to exchange ideas on how German cities can learn from abroad.

The president of the German Environment Agency, Ms. Krautzberger, as well as Dr. Beier, the Member of GIZ Management Board, will jointly open the workshop und kick-start the discussion on the potential of reverse innovation in the field of urban mobility (see tentative agenda)

Many practical innovation examples from developing and emerging countries such as China, India or Brazil will be presented and ignite a lively discussion with our diverse audience. Following the presentations, we will host a high-level panel discussion whose panellists include German Mayors, high-ranking company representatives and innovation researchers.

The workshop is free of charge. Workshop language will be English.

Deadline for registration: 08th September 2017
