Assessment of technologies for CO2 capture and storage
The aim of the study was to summarize the current status for carbon capture, transport and storage for CO2 emissions from power stations. Special attention was given to the implications from the introduction of carbon capture and storage in power stations on the efficiency, emissions and costs for electricity generation.
Annual Report 2006 - Federal Environmental Agency
As the logo of the Federal Environment Agency, the UBA, states 'For man and the environment'. A team now comprising some 1.200 people has been working towards this objective for the past 33 years in Germany.
Transportation Noise and Cardiovascular Risk
Dose-effect Curve and Risk Estimation
The auditory system is continuously analysing acoustic information, which is filtered and interpreted by different cortical and sub-cortical brain structures. According to the general stress concept, repeated autonomic and endocrine responses can result in permanent functional and metabolic changes of the organism in chronically exposed subjects.

Climate Change in Germany
This report is the result of a study conducted by the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), commissioned and financed by the Federal Environmental Agency, Germany (Umweltbundesamt, UBA), and carried out between March 1st, 2003 and June 30th, 2005.
Determining factors in traffic growth
The current aims to identify the most important factors in the generation of traffic.
Development of a national strategy for reducing the quantities of municipal biodegradable waste constituents for deposition on landfill sites
Based on the present status and the established prognosis including various inaccuracies, this study comprises the development of a calculation tool for biodegradable waste management, enabling MOEW to simulate specific scenarios, taking into account the experiences of implemented pilot measures and further research studies.

Standard measurement method for the determination of polybrominated flame retardants (pentabromo diphenylether, octabromo diphenylether) in products
Flame retardants (FR) are being used in various products, e.g. electrical components, synthetics, textiles and furniture foams, in order to reduce their flammability. Polybrominated diphenylethers belong to the most important halogenated FRs: they are – due to the production process – bromohomologous mixes of different isomers and congeneres (ΣBr = 1 to 10).
