Indicator: Commitment to environmental protection

A graph shows the percentage of the population actively involved in environmental protection and nature conservation or who could imagine becoming involved. In 2024 only the current involvement was surveyed (same as in 2022 and 2020) which was at 15 percent.

In the 2024 representative survey, 15 % said they were actively involved in environmental protection and nature conservation. Chemicals, mould or noise – people are exposed every day to potentially harmful influences from the environment. In the German Environmental Survey, the Federal Environment Agency is investigating the exposure of the population to pollutants and other environmental effects such as noise.
