Update information for AUSTAL2000 2.4.4: 1) Native Language Support Several times in the past AUSTAL2000 had to be made available in countries with a language other than German. To facilitate this, the language- specific text has been removed from the program code and placed in a separate file. Without the use of such a language package all text is in English and without special characters. Further information is provided in Section 2 and Appendix C of the program documentation. The English version of AUSTAL2000 is packed with the English language packages, for Windows with latin1 encoding (codepage 1252), for Linux with UTF8 encoding. Beside the German version, a thorough English version of the programm system is provided on the webpage www.austal2000.de. 2) Rated odour hour frequencies In addition to the past procedure of merging all odourants into a single trace substance "odor", animal-type-specific odourants can be defined and rated according to the regulation GIRL 2008. Further information is provided in Section 3.10 of the program documentation. 3) Statistical uncertainty at monitor points The statistical uncertainty is now also written out in the log file for the concentration values at given monitor points, likewise for the time series of concentration at monitor points. In the past it could occur that the estimated uncertainty for the concentration of dust has been too low. With the new calculation method the uncertainty is correctly evaluated for a single source but may be too high for a set of sources. 4) Other * Application of a minimum value of 10m for the construction height when estimating the average surface roughness length. * Optionally specification of an absolute path for parameter rb. * Extension of the program documentation. - Überlingen & Dunum, 2008-11-04, U.
